We climb up before we quote.

Asphalt and standing-seam steel re-roofs across Greater Moncton, from a family crew that has worked these streets since 2009.

Storm season runs October to March: leak calls answered the same day, and a tarp on within 24 hours.

The roof check

An hour on your roof and in your attic

Most quotes around here are written from the driveway. Ours start with a ladder: every slope photographed, the flashing lifted where it looks tired, and the decking tested from the attic with a moisture meter.

Within three days you get the photos and a written quote with steel and asphalt priced side by side, so you can see what each one costs on your house rather than on an average one.

Three houses, three different answers

Standing-seam steel

Snow slides off by noon now.

A steep Victorian in Sackville

Three layers of old shingles and an ice dam every February. We re-sheathed the deck and ran charcoal standing-seam steel from ridge to drip edge.

Architectural asphalt

The lawn swept twice with a magnet before we left.

A side-split in Riverview

Curled shingles and a soft spot over the kitchen. Four sheets of rotten decking replaced, new ridge vent, weathered-wood architectural shingles.

Storm repair

The claim was paid in full.

A cedar cottage at Shediac Bay

A storm tore up the seaward slope. The tarp went on that night; the new cedar was matched by hand and every step was photographed for the insurer.

Which roof suits your house

We install both and have no reason to push either. This is the conversation we have on every roof check.

They showed me photos of my own roof before they quoted it. I had never seen it up close. The crew was gone by four on the second day and I did not find a single nail.

Questions

What people ask on the ladder

Yes. We write the scope your adjuster needs and can bill the claim directly when your insurer allows it.

Not the way we install it, over solid decking and underlayment. From inside it sounds much like asphalt.

We don't. Every roof comes off so we can see the deck, and the ice-and-water membrane has to sit on bare wood.

Two days for most houses, three for steep or cut-up roofs. You get a text each evening with the day's photos.

Low-slope sections over porches and dormers, yes, in a membrane. Commercial flat roofs, no.

Get on the fall list before the snow.

Asphalt needs a day above five degrees to seal, so fall re-roofs book up by November. Steel goes on any dry day.
