House painters · Oak Bay and Victoria

Straight lines on crooked old houses.

Interior and exterior repaints for Victoria's craftsman and heritage homes, from Rockland to James Bay. Every edge is cut by brush and nothing on the trim is taped.

What we paint

Old houses, inside and out

Benjamin Moore Regal Select inside and Aura outside, unless you ask for something else.

Interior repaints

Walls, ceilings and trim in homes people are living in, one floor at a time so you always keep a kitchen and a bed.

Exterior repaints

Cedar shingle, clapboard and stucco. Washed, scraped, spot-primed and brushed, with a sprayer only where it belongs.

Heritage windows and trim

Old sashes scraped, reglazed where the putty has failed, and painted so they still open in August.

Colour consult on its own

Sample boards and a written colour schedule, even if you plan to paint it yourself. Taken off the job if we do the painting.

How a job runs

From sample board to final walk

  1. Colour consult

We paint sample boards on your own walls and leave them up for two days, so you see each colour in morning light and under lamps.

  2. Written quote

Within three working days, with the paint, the sheen and the number of coats set down for every room.

  3. Prep

Furniture moved and covered, cracks cut out and filled, trim sanded and primed. Houses built before 1960 get a lead test first.

  4. Two coats, one crew

A sheen chosen for how each room is used, and the same two painters from the first day to the last.

  5. Final walk

We walk every room with you and a roll of blue tape. Anything you mark is fixed before we pack up.

They painted the whole main floor while we lived in it. Every night the kitchen was back in order, the dog never got a green tail, and the trim lines are straighter than the house.
