Why no crates

Nobody waits in a kennel here.

A lot of grooming shops take six dogs at eight in the morning and crate them between steps. It is efficient, and it is why so many dogs shake in the car on the way there.

We book one dog per groomer. Yours goes from the door to the tub to the table, and we text you when there are about fifteen minutes left so you can be here when they are done.

It means we see fewer dogs a day. It also means a husky gets a full blow-out instead of a rushed one, and a nervous rescue gets to sniff the room first.

Juno used to come home from other groomers still shedding by the handful. After her first blow-out here we vacuumed once that week, and now she jumps out of the car to go in.

Questions

Before the first visit

Doodles and poodles every six weeks, or the coat mats behind the ears. Double coats at every change of season. Short coats whenever they roll in something.

No. A husky's coat keeps it cool in a Lethbridge summer and warm through a January cold snap. We blow out the undercoat instead.

No. Nervous dogs are the reason we work one at a time. The first visit can be short, with more treats than grooming, and we build from there.

For a puppy's first visit, yes. Most other dogs settle faster without you, and we send a photo from the table.

Tuesday to Saturday, one dog at a time. Most regulars book the next visit at pickup.
