Stand under your car before you pay.
A three-bay family garage five minutes off Highway 2. We put your car on the hoist, walk you under it, and quote the job before we touch a bolt.

The family
Ray opened the first bay in 1987.
The sign still says Sons. Jenna has run the second bay since she finished her apprenticeship, and she would like us to fix that. Cole runs the third, mostly trucks and anything diesel.
Ray still does the walk-throughs. If your car is on the hoist, he hands you a light and shows you what we found, what can wait until spring, and what cannot.
That is the whole business: you see the part, you get the price, and nothing on the bill changes without a phone call.

Dealer or us
What changes when you leave the dealer
We are not against dealers. Recalls and some software updates belong there, and we will tell you when yours does. For everything else, here is the difference.
| Feature | Sprocket & Sons | A typical dealer |
|---|---|---|
| Who explains the repair | The technician who did it, under the car with you | A service advisor at the front counter |
| Diagnostic time | Credited to the repair if we do it | Usually billed on its own |
| Parts | Factory or a named aftermarket brand, both priced, your pick | Factory parts at factory prices |
| Your factory warranty | Kept. We follow the maker's schedule and keep every receipt. | Kept |
| Warranty on the work | Two years or 40,000 km, parts and labour | Varies, often shorter |
| Wait for a booking | Usually within the week | Often two weeks or more in the fall |

Questions
Before you book
The week of the first snow on Highway 2 is the week everyone calls. Book by mid-October and you get the day you want.
For oil changes and tire swaps, yes: there is coffee, a bench and a window onto the bays. For anything longer, we drive you home or to work anywhere in Red Deer.
Light-duty diesel pickups, yes, in Cole's bay. Heavy trucks and farm equipment, we will point you to someone good.
If they are the right parts, yes. Our labour warranty still applies; the part's own warranty is between you and the seller.
Hear a new noise on the highway?
Call and describe it. Ray has a good guess for most noises over the phone, and a better one with the car in the air.
