Start with a one-page business brief
Write the source sheet as if you were training a new receptionist. Use facts, not slogans. Mark anything that still needs confirmation.
- Official business name, preferred public name and primary category.
- Phone, email, hours, street address or real service area.
- Main services, exclusions, typical customer and how an enquiry works.
- Credentials, affiliations and years in business with a source for each claim.
- Links to your Google Business Profile and active social accounts.
Plan pages around customer decisions
A compact local service site can often begin with a home page, a focused services section or page, an about section, and contact details. Add separate service pages when each service has meaningfully different questions, proof or conversion steps.
Write a plain page goal before the copy. For example: ‘Help a Red Deer homeowner decide whether we repair their appliance, then call with the model number.’ That goal determines the headline, service list, proof and call to action.

Write service page copy
Pagely's editorial team keeps this guide current for the same claim-checking process behind every page.

Collect proof you have permission to publish
Choose recent photos of your work, team or premises. Record who owns each photo and whether identifiable customers approved its use. Copy testimonials only from a source you can attribute, such as a connected Google review, and never tidy the customer's words into a stronger claim.
Put licences, awards and guarantees in a verification column. A logo in an old folder is not proof that membership is still active.
Test the path from question to contact
Before launch, complete these checks on a phone and a computer.
- The first screen says what the business does and where it works.
- Service names use customer language and link to enough detail to make a decision.
- Phone, email, maps and form actions work.
- Hours and location match the Google Business Profile.
- Every price, credential, review and performance claim has a source.
- Privacy and other required policy information is present for the data you collect.
